Just a quick post to put of the link to the pictures that I've spent all morning trying to upload! Sorry it took so long--sometimes the internet likes to work, other times it doesn't.
I took a long-weekend trip to M'Bout last week and had a great time with John and Cortney. Don't worry, he's alive and well :) We're all headed to Rosso and then Dakar next week for WAIST, so I'll be sure to take a lot of pictures.
Just want to give a quick shout out to my amazing friends who sent me mail! Lea, Elyse and Nat, you guys are the best :)

OK. So that sequence of John in the water is one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. Although the pictures of you all decked out for his birthday party were mighty fine, as well. What a classy bunch :-). Thanks so much for getting these posted, Em. I know it's not easy, but from our end, it was well worth the wait. Good luck at the softball tournament. Choose an outfield position. All you have to do is stand with your legs slightly apart and face the person holding the bat. Then wait for them to call the 3rd out and run in the same direction as the rest of your teammates.

well both Didi and I now have new screen savers at work. Though she has chosen goats guarding your home, I have the cutest picture of your smiling face with the biggest snowflake (or something)earing I have ever seen. Did I give those to you???

Thanks SO much for the wonderful pictures and the update about John. I shudder to think how little I would know about my number 1 son without you.
After seeing the sequence of the beach pictures, I wondered how he got on the "B" team for WAIST. Such obvious athletic prowess? Nah.
Would you please, please show John how easy it is to take and post pictures? Did he tell you he has a CAMERA COLLECTION?!?! Guess they are only for show, not function.
Also, I must tell you how jealous I was to see the lovely beach pictures, knowing that at that same time we in the midwest were enjoying below zero temperatures.
Have a safe trip to Dakkar, enjoy yourself at WAIST and please give my son a hug from me.

ok, I get it - the PCVs get time off, they go someplace where they can take most of their clothes off and start drinking heavily...they get sunburned, then they dress really strangely and drink some more.
I get it.
